Applying to Volunteer at Mitrata

You must apply to our overseas business partner, ChEd Nepal and you will be asked to complete the following forms:

 

• An Application Form. ChEd Nepal will ask you to complete this form.This form will provide ChEd Nepal with general information about your travel plans and your proposed arrival and departure dates. This information will also help us to coordinate your visit to Mitrata, particularly if you are hoping to meet your sponsored child, as well as the child's family and her school. All visits to sponsorship areas must be coordinated by the staff from Mitrata and be fully supervised. Unannounced visits to Mitrata are unacceptable.

• A Working with Children Check. To ensure that we uphold the Mitrata Organisation's Child Protection Policy and to take positive steps to help protect children and their families, ChEd Nepal will require you to complete a Working with Children Check.

• A Visitor Assumption of Risk, Release of Liability and Acknowledgement of Obligation Form.  ChEd Nepal will ask you to complete this form. This form explains the terms and conditions for visits. By completing this form, you will agree to comply with ChEd Nepal's and Mitrata's policies and protocols and recognise the limitations of ChEd Nepal's and Mitrata's liability.

Each traveller over the age of 18 must complete these forms.
